Los Angeles, July 4: Australian actress Teresa Palmer has shared with her fans details about her break-up in a home video titled "Overcoming Adversity".
She posted it on her spirituality website YourZenLife.com.
Though the 27-year-old has not named the ex-boyfriend, it is believed that she is talking about her romance with actor Scott Speedman, reports contactmusic.com.
"Last year, I had a really difficult time. I had my heart broken last year, really terribly, I was very badly portrayed and it was humiliating and upsetting," Palmer said.
"At the same time that that happened, my mum had some health issues as well. I'd flown her out to Los Angeles to be with me while I was grieving the breakdown of this relationship and she really suffered from some health issues. It was one thing after the next.
"I remember being literally on the floor, bawling my eyes out, just suffering terribly and feeling alone and scared and unsure of the future. Just completely dark, a very low point. I realised that there was nothing I could do but find the strength within myself to pull me out of it," she added.
Palmer mentioned that yoga and meditation helped her get over the rough time.
"Every day I moved further and further away from the pain and I started to rely solely on myself for happiness and fulfilment. It taught me that I don't need to have this despair. As a result of my darkness, probably the worst time I've ever had in my life, I'm a much better person," she added.
The actress is now dating actor-director Mark Webber.
