Los Angeles: Singer Taylor Swift says her music would be “more beige” if she hadn't suffered "humiliation, embarrassment or devastation” in her life.
The 24-year-old, who is known is known for writing songs about her famous link-ups, which include Harry Styles, John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal and Joe Jonas, believes she wouldn't have won as many awards or sold out as many gigs, had she not written about her personal heartbreaks, reports contactmusic.com.
“The songs I've written about my moments of humiliation, embarrassment or devastation have gotten me the greatest sense of clarity.
“If my life had been turbulence free, no bumps in the road at all, maybe my music would be more beige, maybe the stadiums wouldn't be so full and the mantle would be a little more empty,” ASOS magazine quoted Swift as saying.
The “Love Story” hitmaker has won seven Grammys, 15 American Music Awards, 12 Billboard Music Awards, 11 Country Music Association Awards and seven Academy of Country Music Awards. She admits she doesn't ever trust anyone who claims they haven't regretted anything in life.
“I can't stand having regrets, but you're supposed to have them. Anybody who tells you they went through life without regret or error isn't telling you the truth and they shouldn't be trusted,” she added.
