London, Sept 8: Singer Dev has announced she is expecting a baby girl and her debut album will be out this fall, says a media report.
The "In The Dark" singer, who was featured on Far East Movement's No. 1 hit "Like A G6," has yet to release her debut album, but the Universal Republic artist has already had a very productive 2011 that includes several hit singles.
The 22-year-old singer told Hellz Bellz fashion blog that she and her best friend Jimmy are expecting a baby girl.
“Being so busy and wrapped up in my career, I never thought I'd fall in love or have a family,” said Dev.
“I thought I was going to be a lonely touring soul till I was 50… I knew how much Jimmy and I loved each other and I thought we'd do amazing at loving this baby… so this is rad. I feel so blessed and empowered, like I can kick ass more then ever!”
Dev, who broke out in 2010 with the Far East Movement hit “Like a G6,” in which she delivered the chorus and instantly became a staple sound of pop and rhythmic radio, also revealed fears that came with the news.
“I thought my label might drop me,” she told the blog.
“I thought I was going to make Indie Pop and The Cataracs really sad because we worked so f--king hard together and now our entire plans are going to change. Thankfully all of the boys came around, thankfully my label supports me, and I'm grateful… I can celebrate both my hard work, as well as my baby girl!”
Dev's debut album, The Night the Sun Came Up, is due out on November 1.
Her latest single, "In The Dark," is currently No. 37 on the Billboard Hot 100.
