Los Angeles, June 26:  Rapper Kanye West admits he was not worried when a raunchy video, which was stolen from his computer, almost went viral in 2012. He says the scandal would have helped him career wise.

The video allegedly showed the star cavorting with an unidentified woman in a hotel room. West's attorneys had threatened legal action over its publication, claiming it had been taken from his computer without permission.

West has now spoken for the first time about the tape, insisting he wasn't concerned about fans seeing the footage, reports dailystar.co.uk.

"For the most part, I'd rather people have (seen) one of those home videos than some of the paparazzi photos that get published. At least I recorded the s**t myself," West told W magazine.

"That tape couldn't have hurt me in any way if it came out - it could only have helped. Now, I just do exactly what I want, whenever I want, how the f**k I want. 'F**k you' is my message," he added.

West's girlfriend Kim Kardashian, who recently gave birth to their first child, was given a major career boost in 2007 when a sex tape she made with singer Ray J was leaked.
