Los Angeles: Singer Selena Gomez says she is proud of Demi Lovato for being open about her experience in a rehabilitation centre.
Lovato sought medical help for substance abuse, an eating disorder and self harm in 2010. She managed to overcome her past problems and she is now helping people who suffer from similar issues. This makes Gomez very happy.
"I'm very proud of Demi and her being able to accept the challenges she went through, but also for staying a good role model to people who do struggle with the things that she's gone through," femalefirst.co.uk quoted Gomez as saying.
Lovato was recently in Kenya with Canada-based charity Free The Children, which works internationally to empower and enable youth to be agents of change.
