Oomph queen Pamela Anderson, who arrived in Mumbai on Monday night for a reality show, got a taste of Indian fan and media frenzy when she stepped outside the airport to get into her car, reports Times of India.
The Baywatch star, who was with her manager, lost her cool seeing the number of people waiting to click her picture. Her 20-plus bodyguards had to struggle to keep people from falling onto her. But yet, Pamela was constantly touched by people who either wanted to click pictures or take her autograph.
Evidently disgusted by the groping people, Pamela was heard shouting at her staff for not knowing how bad the situation at the airport would be. Her bodyguards later said the star is claustrophobic and "does not like too many people around her".
The Hollywood hottie was also heard muttering that she didn't know international celebs get such attention in India or she would have been better prepared.
But this was just the start of the drama. The second scene was even more disastrous. Pamela was escorted by the bodyguards to her car with the crowd — that had snowballed into a mob — on her tail.
Addressing the waiting media was out of the question and the frightened celeb wanted to leave immediately. She was sweating profusely and tried to cover her face everytime a camera lined up to get a clear picture of her.
Seeing Pamela leave the airport, the mob surrounded her car and stopped it. In this melee, the car's bumper broke and its sides were soon being dented.
After a furious struggle, the bodyguards managed to clear the way and Pamela was driven off.
She's the third international celeb after Jade Goody (Big Brother) and German two bit model Claudia Ciesla to participate in the hugely controversial reality show that has been accused of scripting episodes and events inside the house to garner TRPs.
