Los Angeles: Actor Matt Bomer is all set to portray legendary actor Montgomery Clift in his biopic.
The 37-year-old will play the film icon in a new HBO biopic, “Monty Clift”, reports people.com.
Ira Sachs and Mauricio Zacharias, who penned the 2014 feature “Love Is Strange”, starring John Lithgow and Alfred Molina, will be the script-writer of the film.
Clift, who died July 23, 1966, starred in films like “The Heiress”, “Red River”, “From Here to Eternity” and “Judgement at Nuremberg”.
Clift was a close friend of Elizabeth Taylor, his co-star in 1951's “A Place in the Sun” and the 1957 Civil War epic “Raintree County”.
The biopic will focus on their longtime relationship.
Bomer, who has been married to Simon Halls since 2011, most recently appeared on HBO's “The Normal Heart” and wrapped filming on the highly anticipated “Magic Mike: XXL”.
