Actress Laverne Cox says she would like to be seen as "compelling" and "intelligent" rather than known for her looks.
Cox, who advocates the cause of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community, wants people to look beyond her striking features and appreciate her as a "talented actress" and someone with a "beautiful character", reports femalefirst.co.uk.
“A lot of people have told me that I'm gorgeous and I love hearing that; I'm not going to lie. But I would like to think that I'm compelling not just because of the way I look,” Cox told Britain's RadioTimes magazine.
“That I have something intelligent, smart, insightful, even moving to say. That I'm talented as an actress and that there's something about the content of my character that is beautiful, beyond how I look. I'd like to think," she added.
