New York, June 24: Just hours after a scuffle at his NYC fragrance launch on Thursday (June 23) teen heartthrob Justin Bieber made a b-line through the red carpet at his girlfriend Selena Gomez's latest film premiere.
And though her man was on site, the Disney starlet, who arrived in a shimmering blue gown, made it clear that the night was all about the girls.
“Obviously I think it's extremely important. I mean I'm so happy. Especially in my industry I'm so happy that a move like ‘Bridesmaids' did well because it was all women and ‘Monte Carlo' is mostly all just three girls so hopefully the teen girls will kind of embrace it. I think it's important to have each other's back in a way,” said the 18-year-old actress and singer.
“Monte Carlo” takes Gomez's Grace, her step-sister Meg (Leighton Meester) and best friend Emma (Katie Cassidy) on a European dream vacation after Grace is mistaken for an heiress.
“The whole experience of ‘Monte Carlo' was so much fun. I got to work on the entire film with Leighton and Katie and I couldn't have been luckier. They were amazing. I haven't done a lot of film work, so for me this was a really big step for me and I worked really hard,” said Gomez.
“Gossip Girl” star Cassidy plays a small town waitress in love with her high school sweetheart Owen, played by “Glee's” Cory Monteith.
“We certainly did a lot of traveling and obviously every moment on set and off set, we were like young little girls. I felt like I was in high school again. It was really sweet. We spent a lot of time together off set as well and, you know, I think it was a really good experience for all of us,” said Cassidy.
“Monte Carlo” was directed by Tom Bezucha and produced by Nicole Kidman.
It opens in US theaters 1 July. AP
