New Delhi: Jackie Chan's son and actor Jaycee Chan has been arrested in Beijing on alleged drugs charges.
The 32-year-old actor along with his friend and actor Kai Ko were detained on Thursday during a raid in Dongcheng district, the city's commercial and cultural center.
According to the police, both the celebs have been tested positive for Marijuana. And later, 100 grams of the drug was found in Chan's apartment on searching. Not only this, the actor is also accused of ‘hosting others to take drugs,' claimed China Daily.
Going further in the matter, the state broadcaster CCTV aired a footage of Chan, blurring his face where he was shown telling police where the drugs were hidden at his home. Chan's friend Kai Ko, who made a teary apology in front of the police said, "I very much regret about what happened. I'm very sorry to those who support me, like me or even know me personally.”
"I just want to tell them I'm really sorry. I've set the worst example, which had the most terrible influence. And this is a huge mistake," he added.
And all this is coming from the son of Kungfu legend, Jackie Chan, who himself had campaigned against drug use, and was named an anti-drugs ambassador in China in 2009.
The entire arrest has been considered to be a part of capital's latest anti-drugs campaign, which has seen more than 7, 000 people detained for using drugs, deemed China Daily.
Earlier, popular movie actor Zhang Mo and Li Daimo, who was given imprisonment for nine months for hosting a crystal meth party at his home, were also arrested in the similar issue.
