London, July 28: Over 50,000 people flocked to London's Hyde Park on Friday evening for a concert to celebrate the opening of the 2012 Olympics.
The event took place alongside the opening ceremony with large screens showing the events unfolding at the Olympic stadium in Stratford, East London.
Performers included Paolo Nutini representing Scotland, Duran Duran representing England, Stereophonics representing Wales and Snow Patrol from Northern Ireland.
Following performances from Nutini and Duran Duran the crowd looked on as the huge screens showed the opening ceremony, which was directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Danny Boyle.
