Los Angeles: Actors Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Jeffrey Tambor took home Emmy Awards in the Outstanding Lead Actress and Actor in a Comedy Series category at the 67th annual Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony here.

Louis-Dreyfrus scored her fourth consecutive Emmy win, this time for her comical part in "Veep", while popular character actor Tambor won it for his role in "Transparent".

Taking a dig at politician Donald Trump, Louis-Dreyfrus thanked the cast and creators of the HBO series while accepting her award.

"Thank you everyone - crew, cast and writers. I would also like to honour all the women in the nomination category. I love powerful funny women. And in the end I would thank my husband and my children," she said.

As for the Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, Bradley Whitford walked away with the accolades for "Transparent", and among the actresses in the same category, Joan Cusack received it for "Shameless".

In the Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, it was Allison Janney who took home an Emmy for "Mom", and Tony Hale got the award for "Veep" among the men in the category.

"Transparent" registered another win - for Jill Soloway in Directing for a Comedy, as did "Veep" - Writing for a Comedy Series for Simon Blackwell, Tony Roche and Armando Iannucci.

The annual television award ceremony is being held at the Microsoft Theater here on Sunday.
