Joker origin movie to start filming soon

A film on the origin of the Joker will reportedly go on the floors soon as the script is almost ready.

Joker Joker origin movie coming soon

Warner Bros. and DC's solo film focusing on the origin story could start filming as early as next year as the script is nearing completion, reports aceshowbiz.com. The movie was announced in August, but both Warner Bros. and DC are rushing the project forward.

There's no release date set for the film yet. Todd Phillips and Scott Silver are attached as co-writers. Phillips is also expected to work behind the lens for as well as produce the film.

The Joker origin movie will not star Jared Leto, who portrayed the green-haired villain in last year's "Suicide Squad".

Leonardo DiCaprio may replace the "Blade Runner 2049" actor to play Joker in the DC Extended Universe.

WB is reportedly trying for Martin Scorsese as a producer for the upcoming movie in an effort to bring DiCaprio into the DCEU since they're frequent collaborators.

The duo teamed up in "The Aviator", "Gangs of New York", "The Departed", "Shutter Island" and "The Wolf of Wall Street".
