Yash Chopra's, often touted as Bollywood's king of romance, contribution to Indian cinema has been exceptional. He made movies like no other did -- his films gave a different perspective on love and friendship. Be it Kabhi Kabhie (1976), Silsila (1981), Chandni (1989), Lamhe (1991) or Dil To Pagal Hai (1997) and Veer-Zaara (2004), his body of work speaks for itself.
The USP of his movies, however, was the music. He made his directorial debut with Dhool Ka Phool in 1959 and his last film was Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jab Tak Hai Jaan which came in the year 2012, before the release of which he passed away.
