ustice S.V. Kotwal of the Bombay High Court on Tuesday reserved the order in the bail pleas of Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik in a drugs case filed by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

The court completed the hearing of the arguments by the Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh and the siblings' lawyer Satish Maneshinde besides advocate Tareq Sayed for co-accused Abdel Basit Parihar, advocate Subodh Desai for Samuel Miranda, advocate Rajendra Rathod for Dipesh Sawant, and has reserved the order in the matter.

Opposing the bail applications, the NCB said that the Chakraborty siblings are "active members of drug syndicate connected with high-society personalities and drug suppliers", besides her involvement in procuring and financing the drugs, which was revealed in her statement recorded by the NCB.

However, Maneshinde strongly denied the NCB's contentions in his arguments.

The NCB also asserted that it had jurisdiction to probe Sushant Singh Rajput's death-related cases, but at one point said that this case was not related to the actor's death, or maybe related 5-10 per cent because he was consuming (drugs).

Rhea Chakraborty is an active member of a drug syndicate connected with high society personalities and drug suppliers, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has submitted in court. With several high profile Bollywood personalities being investigated by NCB, the enforcement body has now said clearly that "high society personalities" are involved with a drug syndicate and drug suppliers, of which Rhea is a member. Rhea is accused of harbouring late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput for consumption of drugs, NCB said. "If the overall scenario is seen, the present applicant being aware of the fact that Sushant Singh Rajput being someone who is engaged in consumption has harboured him and concealed him whilst he was engaged in consumption of drugs," NCB charged. This comes as a sensational disclosure in the probe of Rhea's role in the SSR mystery death.

NCB has once again opposed the bail application of actor, Rhea Chakraborty and said there is sufficient evidence gathered that she is involved in drug trafficking. NCB made it clear that Rhea aided, abetted and financed the other accused for drug transactions under a criminal conspiracy.

In an affidavit filed in the Bombay High Court by Sameer Wankhede, Zonal Director, NCB, Rhea has made a statement that she was making payment for the drugs which were taken delivery of by Samuel Miranda and Dipesh Sawant for handing these over to the late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput. NCB said it is clear that the drugs which were financed were not meant for personal consumption but for supplying the same to other person and Section 27A of NDPS 1985 is clearly applicable.

Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Tuesday sought to know what happened after the probe into actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death was given to the CBI, and said he is eagerly waiting to know the outcome of the agency's investigation. Taking to Twitter, Deshmukh said, "What happened
after the Sushant Singh death case probe was handed over to the CBI? People have been asking whether the actor committed suicide or was killed."
"We are also waiting eagerly to know the outcome of the CBI probe," he added.

Actress Aneesha Madhok, friend of Sushant Singh Rajput, wants justice for the late actor but at the same time believes people should treat his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty with respect. With the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arresting Rhea in connection with its probe into a possible drugs angle in Sushant's death, fans as well as the film fraternity have become polarised between supporting Sushant and Rhea, with online campaigns #JusticeforSushant and #JusticeforRhea trending regularly. However, Aneesha feels Bollywood needs to be united on the subject.

"Bollywood shouldn't be divided. It is a multilayered situation. Being a friend of SSR, I would like his case to be taken seriously. I would like justice for his soul. At the same time, I believe that people should treat Rhea with respect. Sushant believed in peace and he would have wanted people to not hate," said Aneesha.

Even as the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has asserted that it has 'jurisdiction' to probe the Sushant Singh Rajput's death-related cases, the Bombay High Court is set to hear bail applications of two of the prime accused -- actress Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik -- later in the day, officials said.

Opposing their bail pleas, the NCB said that as per the directions of the Supreme Court, the Central Bureau of Investigation would take over the Sushant probe, if any new cases are registered on the late actor's death and the surrounding circumstances of his unnatural death, but it (the directions) did not pertain to the present (drugs) cases registered under the NDPS Act, 1985.

Sources claim that the viscera report of Sushant Singh Rajput hasn't found traces of poison. However, the doctors at Cooper Hospital have not been given clean-chit yet. CBI is still investigating the case and no aspect has been ruled out yet. AIIMS forensic team is yet to submit the final report to CBI.

Chairman of AIIMS' Forensic Medical Board, DR. Sudhir Gupta, has submitted a part of the final viscera report of Sushant Singh Rajput to the CBI and has claimed that more work needs to be done. He claims that AIIMS and CBI are in agreement but need to look into the legal aspects for a logical legal conclusion. CBI further states that it would analyse the final report with the evidence presented to derive it Sushant died by suicide or it was a murder.
