After SC verdict, Sushant Singh Rajput's father clarifies legal position | UPDATES
The Supreme Court today said the CBI will investigate actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death. The court also said the FIR registered in Bihar based on the complaint filed by Sushant Singh's father was correct, reference to CBI is lawful. Rhea Chakraborty had asked the Supreme Court to transfer the FIR from Patna to Mumbai.
The Supreme Court has ordered the CBI probe in Sushant Singh Rajput's death. Justice Hrishikesh Roy pronounced the verdict on Thursday. The apex court has asked Mumbai Police to hand over all evidence collected so far in the case to CBI. Mumbai Police has been asked to assist CBI in the probe since this is a Court ordered CBI investigation. Rhea Chakraborty's lawyer Satish Maneshinde after the verdict stated that the actress will appear and face the investigation by the CBI as she has done earlier with the Mumbai Police and the Enforcement Directorate. His statement further read, "She maintains that the truth will remain the same whichever agency investigates the case. SC after examining the facts and circumstances of the case and the report of the Mumbai Police has observed that it will be the desired justice as Rhea herself called for a CBI investigation."

Reacting to the verdict, Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey said, "I'm very happy. SC order has strengthened trust people have in the Court & has assured the nation that justice will be delivered...Today's verdict has proved that Bihar Police was correct. The way Mumbai Police behaved was illegal."
The Bihar government in its submission to the apex court earlier said, "It is apparent that it is on account of political pressure in the State of Maharashtra that neither the FIR has been registered by the Mumbai Police nor did they extend any cooperation to Bihar Police in discharging their obligation to conduct investigation expeditiously."
Sushant's family has been demanding CBI probe in the matter for many days and had even organised a global prayer meet seeking support from fans and well-wishers of the actor to join hands in the battle for Sushant Singh Rajput.
As the verdict came in family's favor, the actor's sister Shweta Singh Kirti took to Twitter and wrote, "Thank you God! You have answered our prayers!! But it is just the beginning... the first step towards the truth! Full faith on CBI!! #Victoryoffaith #GlobalPrayersForSSR #Wearefamily #CBITakesOver" In another tweet, she wrote, "There we go!! Finally!! CBI for SSR!! #CBITakesOver"

Ishkaran Singh Bhandari, whom BJP Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy appointed to initiate a CBI probe into the Sushant Singh Rajput case, says Supreme Court ordering a court-monitored CBI probe is a step way ahead of expectations. "It is a huge victory for the people of India. Our constitution starts with, ‘We the people' and the people united in this case," Bhandari told IANS after the judgement.

Veteran actress Usha Nadkarni on SC verdict
Veteran actress Usha Nadkarni, who played the mother of Sushant Singh Rajput in the popular TV show Pavitra Rishta, has welcomed the Supreme Court ruling that ordered a CBI probe in the death of the late actor on Wednesday.
"I feel so happy that now CBI will look into the case. People have prayed so much and now their prayers have been answered. There is a lot of power in prayers. A lot of what has happened in the aftermath of Sushant's death has been chaotic. I really feel he deserves justice," Usha Nadkarni told IANS.
She is little sceptical, too.
"Lekin CBI me jaake bhi kya hoga maaloom nahi. Log CBI CBI kar rahe hain. Ab sab bhagwan bharose hai (one doesn't know what will happen even after the case has been transferred to the CBI. People are excited about the case being handed over to the CBI. Everything depends on God)," she said.

Sushant's case has now been handed over to the CBI, after which IndiaTV spoke to a close source related to the actor who made many big revelations. According to this source, Sushant had sent a van to his farmhouse on 17th March from Mumbai, after which a lockdown was implemented from 21st March. The purpose of sending this van was that he wanted to avoid the threat of coronavirus and wanted to end his relationship with Rhea and start a new inning. Sushant sent all the important things Mumbai via van because Sushant wanted to stay there till the threat of the virus was over and the shooting began. He even asked to fill the ration of 2 months to stay here. But then Samuel Miranda got everyone canceled on the phone. There were certain things that were ordered by Samuel himself.
Sushant and Rhea last visited Lonavala farmhouse in February, after which Sushant thought it right to come alone. According to the source, he looked happier and had a fresh mind this time. Rhea's entire family and special friends of Showik had come to celebrate her birthday in June 2019 where a lot of parties took place. Sushant, in the second week of March, ordered all the things of farming but then Samuel called and asked him to return it.

While carrying out investigation into Mr Rajput's bank accounts after his death in June, the police had decided to get them forensically audited. Accordingly, Grant Thornton, an accounting and advisory firm, was appointed the forensic auditor in the case.
The report suggests that there was no financial transaction from Mr Rajput's accounts to those of his girlfriend, actor Rhea Chakraborty, the official said. Sushant Rajput, 34, was financially well-off and took good care of his staff too, he said.
