Deepika Padukone reaches Mumbai with Ranveer, to join NCB probe on Sept 26 | SSR death case

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) cloned the mobile phones of Rhea Chakraborty and others, which gave them access to the WhatsApp chats of film stars. The cloning of Rhea's mobile phone was done by the NCB during an investigation into a Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) case.

The NCB's investigation in the drugs case linked to Sushant Singh Rajput's death case has caught up with several Bollywood A listers after their WhatsApp chats over banned drugs surfaced.

Some WhatsApp chats have surfaced in the media, reportedly between Rhea and others, and the probe agency is now focused on a group chat from 2017, allegedly between Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone and her manager Karishma Prakash.

 The alleged chat of Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone with her then manager Karishma Prakash in October 2017 was the main reason behind the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to summon her in a drugs-related case that emerged out during the probe of actor Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

A top NCB source told IANS that the agency got suspicious after it came to the fore in one of the alleged chats of Jaya Saha, the talent manager of Sushant was discussing drugs with the late actor's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty.

Saha has been questioned by the NCB on several occasions in last few days.

The NCB initiated a probe into the drugs case on the request of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after it retreived several of the chat records.

Actor Shekhar Suman seems disappointed with the way investigation into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput seems to have slowed down. He feels the focus of the probe has been diverted to the alleged drug links of Bollywood.

"Druggies ko marne do.. salakhon ke peeche dalo, desh se nikalo, film se nikalo humey koi matlab nahin. Humey sirf ye batao Sushant ko kisne maara aur kyon? TV couple Abigail Pande and Sanam Johar are being grilled by the NCB for the last 8 hours.

Deepika Padukone will leave Goa from a chartered plane tonight at 8 pm and will reach Mumbai at around 10 pm. Deepika will be accompanied by her manager Karisma and husband Ranveer Singh.

Deepika's legal team has informed the NCB that their client will be present for the questioning. It's part of the process but she has replied.

The NCB has said in its petition in the sessions court that during the investigation Showik Chakraboryy had revealed the names of some high profile people. His mobile data showed that he was involved in drug dealing. NCB wants to know the high-profile names and hence, they will question Showik in Taloja jail.

Security has been increased outside Deepika Padukone's home as she returns to Mumbai from Go where she was shooting for her upcoming film with Siddharth Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday.

NDPS court has given permission to NCB to interrogate Showik Chakraborty and Sushant Singh Rajput's cook Dipesh Sawant in the jail.

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who was shooting for Shakun Batra's next in Goa, has left for Mumbai to appear before NCB tomorrow for interrogation.

On the other hand, Sara Ali Khan who was also in goa along with her brother Ibrahim Ali Khan is coming back to Mumbai. She is supposed to appear before NCB for interrogation on September 26.

After summoning actress Rakul Preet Singh on Thursday, a four-member team of NCB reached at Rakul Preet Singh's house. The actress will appear before  NCB tomorrow for interrogation.

NCB summons Dharma Production’s executive producer Kshitij Ravi Prasad for interrogation. Dharma Productions is owned by filmmaker Karan Johar. 

During the raid, NCB seized 'charas' from TV couple Abigail Panday and Sanam Johar's house. The officials are interrogating the couple.

Earlier it was said that Rhea Chakraborty's bail plea will not be heard today but now, the actress's and her brother Showik Chakraborty's application will be heard today. On Thursday, the hearing was postponed due to heavy rains. Rhea's lawyer Satish Maneshinde has released an official statement which states that the hearing will be taken up today. In the bail plea, Rhea has claimed that Sushant used to procure and consume drugs while she is innocent.

Rakul Preet Singh claims she has not received summon by NCB for interrogation in the drugs probe, either in Mumbai or in Hyderabad. She was said to appear before the Narcotics Control Bureau today for interrogation at 11 am. But now, she will not arrive at NCB office for questioning. On the other hand, NCB claims that Rakul is making excuses to not join the drug probe. According to NCB, they tried contacting Rakul Preet on Wednesday but could not, after which they sent her the summon digitally through mail.

Rhea Chakraborty's bail plea hearing will not take place today. 

NCB will grill actress Deepika Padukone tomorrow on September 25. The actress is currently in Goa to shoot for her next film directed by Shakun Batra. To join the probe tomorrow, Deepika will return to Mumbai today by 2 pm. Her manager Karishma Prakash will accompany the actress for interrogation.

Kangana Ranaut shares a tweet as NCB summoned Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh in Bollywood drug probe. Continuing their interrogation, NCB will quiz Sushant Singh Rajput's former business manager Shruti Modi today. She will be joined by actress Rakul Preet Singh and fashion designer Simmone Khambatta.
