Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case: SIT team is in Mumbai. The CBI has prepared its strategy of investigation in Mumbai. It will collect documents from Mumbai Police. The CBI team from Delhi is now examining the case diary.
A day after the Supreme Court ordered for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, a team of the agency's SIT reached Mumbai on Thursday to initiate investigation. The CBI team from Delhi is now examining the case diary. The team from Delhi that reached Mumbai is led by CBI's Superintendent of Police (SP) Nupur Prasad. They reached Mumbai with all the medical documents related to Covid-19 reports after the issue faced by the Bihar police team weeks ago.
CBI's SIT will work in two parts, a team will examine all the case diaries, panchnama, Sushant's diaries, bank statements, Mumbai forensic report and autopsy report related to the Mumbai Police case. The statements of 56 people will be re-examined and the Mumbai Police will also be questioned by the investigation team. While the other team will go to Sushant's flat with CFSL and once again find all the clues from there, besides preparing for re-creation and dummy test. According to sources, SP Nupur Prasad himself will go to the spot.
The source said that the CBI team will also collect the documents from the Mumbai Police and meet the investigation officer, who handled the Sushant case. If required the team will also speak to the Mumbai Police DCP, with whom the family of Sushant shared a WhatsApp message in February this year citing threat to the life of the actor.
The late actor's family on Wednesday said that they believe that all those involved in the "dastardly crime" will be brought to justice as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken over to probe the case. "Now that the country's premier investigating agency has taken over, we believe that all those involved in the dastardly crime will be brought to justice. Today's development reaffirmed our faith in India as a robust democracy," family said in a statement.
"We, Sushant's family, thank our friends, well-wishers, media and millions of fans worldwide for their love for Sushant and Support for us," the statement added. The family "particularly thanked" Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, for "setting the wheel of justice in motion."
