Deepika Padukone was the scene-stealer at the launch event of Chhapaak trailer. Not only did she look like a dream -- in black, she also added that dash of that extra emotion to the event. Deepika got teary as she spoke about the experience of working in the film, which chronicles the daily struggles of an acid attack survivour.
At the event, Deepika was asked about her experience of playing Malti in the film. She got teary-eyed, and choked into not being able to speak for at least few minutes. The actress was accompanied by her leading man Vikrant Massey as well as director Meghna Gulzar. The two tried to console Deepika, and she could only manage to say: "Thanks Meghna for trusting me with this."
Deepika was also asked if she felt 'scared' looking at herself when she turned into Malti as shown in the trailer. To this, she said using the word 'scared' was inappropriate in this situation.
She said when she underwent the look test for the role and transformed into a person whose face has been destroyed by acid, she felt completely herself. "It was the day she found out how to play the character," she added.
