Ashneer Grover, known for his candid and no-nonsense attitude, gained popularity as an investor on Shark Tank India. While he won over many fans with his straightforward approach, he also faced criticism for his bluntness and 'doglapan' dialogue. Nonetheless, his personality often leads to interesting and unfiltered stories. In a podcast, Ashneer recounted an incident involving Salman Khan. He met the Bollywood actor to brief him on a sponsored ad shoot, and they spent hours together discussing the project. However, Salman's manager informed Ashneer that Salman wouldn't take a photo with him.
Ashneer recalls 'no-photo' incident with Salman Khan
Ashneer's response to the 'no-photo' was equally candour, as he said, "I won't take a picture, you go to hell." Narrating the incident, Ashneer said, "Salman Khan se mila hoon. Usko humne sponsor rakha tha, toh uske shoot ke liye mila tha. Shoot se pehle mila tha usko brief karne ke liye ki company kya hai. Toh teen ghante baitha tha uske saath, uske manager ne bol diya ki photo nahi khichwani hai, sir thoda bura maan jaate hain. Maine kaha saale, maine bola, nahi khichwaunga photo, bhaad main ja tu. Matlab aisi kaunsi heropanti ho gayi (I met Salman when I briefed him for a sponsored ad shoot. I sat with him for three hours and then his manager told me that Salman will not take a photo with me. I told him I won’t take a picture, you go to hell)."
Ashneer praises Salman Khan
Not only this, but Ashneer Grover also praised Salman's intelligence and business acumen. He commended Salman, describing him as a very intelligent individual who not only comprehends business but also has a clear understanding of branding. He said, "Banda bohot smart hai. Matlab voh jo logo ko lagta hai na ki hawa main hai, banda bohot genuinely smart hai. Usko business samajhta hai, usko branding samajhti hai. Usko apni image clear hai kya hai (He’s very smart. People think otherwise but he’s genuinely very smart. He understands business and branding. He’s clear about his image)."
"Jab hum ad bana rahe the toh usne clear bol diya tha ki dekho, mere ko ka larger than life hi dikhana, kyuki maine picture bhi banayai thi Tubelight, voh pitt gayi kyuki mere ko usme mandbuddhi dikha diya. Aur voh janta ko pasand nahi aata (When we were making the ad, he clearly told us to portray him as larger than life. He said in Tubelight, he was portrayed as an unintelligent man and the audience did not like it, hence the film was a disaster)," he added.
