Twitter upset with Karan Johar judging India's Next Superstar; calls it a ‘drama’
The infamous nepotism debate, which was started by Kangana Ranaut in Koffee with Karan, came alive all over again.
As soon as Karan Johar launched Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor’s step-brother Ishaan Khattar in Dhadak, there was complete buzz everywhere. While several people lauded Janhvi and Ishaan calling them an “adorable Bollywood couple”, some took to social media and slammed Karan for promoting nepotism. The infamous nepotism debate, which was started by Kangana Ranaut in Koffee with Karan, came alive all over again. Now, the filmmaker is co-judging India's Next Superstar with Golmaal Again director Rohit Shetty. In the show's promo, KJo says, "Na Khaandan na sifarish... sirf aapke talent ka intezaar” and, now Twitterati is not all happy.
Karan Johar shared the promo of the upcoming show on Twitter and said, “The MEGA hunt for INDIAS NEXT SIPERSTARS! Supremely excited to be on this show with ROHIT SHETTY!! Get set go”.
No sooner did the director’s post hit the internet than members of the social media attacked him.
Twitter is also inquisitive as to how long will Karan Johar promote star kids like Jhanvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter.
They also criticised the filmmaker for never giving the chance to talented actors who give the audition every day at his studio.
This isn’t the first time that Karan Johar sparked nepotism debate on social media. The director presented Raj Kapoor’s grandson Aadar Jain on social media and, trolls started to flow from everywhere. Yash Raj Films (YRF) introduced the star kid along with a Delhi-based girl Anya Singh.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Karan Johar welcomed YRF’s new face Aadar Jain with a caption that read, “A talented chip of the legendary block.welcome to the movies AADAR JAIN....shine on!
