Bollywood actress Amrita Rao is gearing up for her film titled Thackeray with Nawazuddin Siddiqui which is based on the life history of the Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray. Amrita will essay the role Thackeray's wife in the film.

Amrita along with Nawazuddin has started the promotions of her film and the actress was recently seen on Kapil Shama’s show with the lead actor of the film.

Recently, Amrita during an interview opened up about the MeToo movement and lauded actress Tanushree Dutta for her brave step. Praising Tanushree, Amrita said that she has given strength to women to speak up about their experiences. She said that men will now feel scared to be flirtatious with women. Amrita blamed the society for always targeting women for their behaviour and not pointing out men. The MeToo movement gained momentum when Tanushree last year filed a case against veteran actor Nana Patekar.

Actor Nawazuddin will be seen essaying the role of Balasaheb Thackeray in the film and talking about his character, he said, "Getting the mannerisms, his thought process and internalising his vision to portray the character was very tough and I had to work really hard on that.

Directed by Abhijit Panse, Thackeray will be releasing on January 25.
