Ever since the announcement of Dharma Production’s most ambitious project Takht, the buzz around the movie refuses to die. From a stellar starcast to Karan Johar bouncing back into direction, the film has every element of a blockbuster movie. Now, it is confirmed that Alia Bhatt will be reuniting with her Raazi co-star Vicky Kaushal in Takht and on the other side, Dhadak girl Janhvi Kapoor will be seen romancing master of all trades, Ranveer Singh.

According to the reports in BollywoodLife, a source has confirmed that Alia Bhatt will be paired with Vicky Kaushal and Ranveer Singh will be romancing Janhvi Kapoor. This will be Janhvi’s second Bollywood film after her debut with Dhadak. Reports also suggest that Janhvi will be Nadira Banu Begum who was a Mughal princess. The role may not be a large one as Nadira died before her husband, Dara was executed. Ranveer Singh will be playing the idealistic Dara Shukoh.

On the other hand, Vicky Kaushal will be playing the self-obsessed, tyrannical Aurangzeb. The film traces the relationship between Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb and his brother, Dara Shukoh. Alia may play Dilras Banu Begum popularly known as Rabia - ud - Daurani. She was Aurangzeb's favourite queen and bore him five children. Vicky and Alia have already shared the screen space in Raazi and were much loved by the audience. It won’t be wrong to say that the duo will perfectly revive their chemistry in Takht.

It’s going to be a big project for Karan Johar as his period film Takht will have an ensemble cast including Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Janvhi Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles. After helming Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Karan Johar has donned the director hat again for Takht, which means ‘throne’ in English.
