Sridevi's English Vinglish director Gauri Shinde pens down an emotional message for the actress

Sridevi received much appreciation for her fantastic performance in English Vinglish.

Sridevi’s untimely demise has not just left the entire nation shocked but also created a void which can never be filled. The actress died at 54 by 'accidental drowning' in the bathtub following loss of consciousness in a hotel room in Dubai. The actress was in Dubai to attend the wedding ceremony of her nephew Mohit Marwah. 

Sridevi in her career span of 50 years had acted in more than 300 films including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. The actress took a break from film industry and made a comeback after 15 years through Gauri Shinde’s film English Vinglish. Sridevi received much appreciation for her fantastic performance in English Vinglish. 

Reports were also there that Sridevi will be soon seen in the sequel of English Vinglish. And now English Vinglish maker Gauri Shinde has written a heartfelt note for the actress on her Twitter account. 

She wrote, ‘’Sri … I still refuse to believe that I won’t be seeing you next week…" Post Sridevi’s funeral, her husband Boney Kapoor also wrote an emotional post for his love through her Twitter handle. 

His letter read as, ‘’Losing a friend, wife and mother of two young daughters is a loss inexplicable in words. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my family, friends, colleagues and well-wishers and all of you countless fans of my Sridevi who have stood by us like rocks. I am blessed to have the support and love of Arjun and Anshula, who have been such pillars of strength for myself, Khushi and Janhvi. Together, as a family we have tried to face this unbearable loss."
