Kareena Kapoor Khan’s comeback film Veere Di Wedding is one chick flick that everybody is eagerly waiting for. The film is all set to hit the cinemas in 2018 but before that the speculations of catfight between the leading actresses of the film Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor and Swara Bhaskar are flying high all over. Now, the Neerja star Sonam has come to the forefront to put an end to all such “nonsensical gossips”. Making it absolutely clear that there is no tiff between the trio, Sonam took to Twitter and poured her heart out.Sonam's reaction came following a 'blind item' posted by an entertainment portal.
In a Twitter post, Sonam wrote: "Dear websites, you can put out as many 'blind items' (aka gossip you were too lazy to fact-check) as you like pitting women against each other. It may get you clicks but it won't be the truth. Must you insist on shoving this tired patriarchal concept of women cat fighting into our film (which is not about a road trip) as if grown, intelligent women have nothing better to do.
"We will continue to be actual friends and try and make a kick-ass movie and prove that women can work with each other, get along and have a blast. Because we can, we are and we will continue to. And on schedule. Please keep in mind how outdated, irresponsible, and harmful your narrative is and frustrating for a culture of women who actually want to work together.
"There is no place for it anymore. Sincerely, The cast and crew of Veere Di Wedding”.
Meanwhile, Sonam’s father and veteran actor Anil Kapoor also came to his daughter’s support and said, "Veeres stand together, through 'blind stories', false accusations and smear campaigns. That's true friendship."
Produced by Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor, the film's first schedule was wrapped in Delhi. It is directed by Shashanka Ghosh and will hit the cinemas in 2018.
On a related note, father- daughter duo Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor are coming together for a Vidhu Vinod Chopra film titled Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga.
