Sonam Kapoor's wedding is just around the corner and her fans cannot contain their excitement. The fashionista who will tie the knot with her long-term beau Anand Ahuja on May 8 will also host a grand reception for industry people and close friends.Yesterday Anand landed in Mumbai from New York and we saw the couple spending quality time together.
After the wedding at her aunt's bungalow, the actress will be busy fulfilling her professional commitments. She has a string of projects to complete, so there is no honeymoon for the newly-wed in near future.
Sonam will walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, hence the diva will be in French Riviera on May 14. Anand won't accompany Sonam to the Cannes. "Anand won’t be at Cannes with her but the couple is planning an October-November honeymoon which will be delayed because of the bride-to-be’s choc-oblock schedule,'' a source told the leading daily.
Besides promoting her forthcoming film Veere Di Wedding, Sonam will also resume shooting of Shelly Dhar's Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. In August, she will start shooting The Zoya Factor with Dulquer Salmaan.
On May 1, The Kapoors and The Ahujas made a joint announcement about the wedding. The official statement says: ''The Kapoor and Ahuja families, take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam and Anand. The wedding will take place on the 8th of May in Mumbai. Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family's need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love, as we celebrate this special moment in our lives.''
We have already shown you pictures of Sonam's wedding cards which is as classy as the couple. The beautiful card has paintings of trees and leaves. While the mehendi will be held at Sunteck, Signature Island, BKC from 4 pm, the wedding will take place between 11 am to 12:30 pm at Rockdale, 226, Bandstand, Bandra, which is Sonam's aunt bungalow. The ceremony will be followed by lunch. On the same day at 8 pm, a lavish party will be thrown at The Leela, Mumbai.
