Bollywood superstars Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan’s friendship has seen a lot of ups and own in their time in the film industry. Now the two are best of friends and even seem to recommend each other for roles and movies. This is no secret that Aamir Khan denied being part of the Rakesh Sharma biopic tentatively titled Saare Jahan Se Accha but told the producers that his friend SRK would be the perfect choice for it. Now SRK has also commented upon the same and thanked Aamir for introducing him with the opportunity.
In a recent interview with Deccan Chronicle, Shah Rukh said, “I thank Aamir [Khan] who was to do the film for calling me and telling me about the role as it would suit me. Whenever I get the time, I will try and spend time with him (Rakesh Sharma).”
Reportedly titled Saare Jahaan Se Achcha, the film was first offered to Aamir and Priyanka Chopra. It was Priyanka who had confirmed Aamir's name for the biopic earlier. When asked the reason for giving up the project, Aamir said he had his reasons. "It is a great script. I loved the script and the story of Mr. Sharma is fascinating. It is true that I called up Shah (Shah Rukh). I said, 'Shah you should hear the script, it is fantastic. It will be right for you if you like it'. I am glad he liked the script and he is doing it," he said in an interview.
The film’s co-producer Ronnie Screwvala had confirmed that the film will roll in 2019 and Shah Rukh Khan is doing the film. The superstar will be portraying astronaut Rakesh Sharma in the film. Talking to Indianexpress.com about the film, producer Ronnie Screwvala, in an interview in October 2018 said, “It (the script) has been with us for quite a long time. The film will go on floors early next year. We will make an official announcement soon.”
Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in the film Zero which released on December 21, 2018 and also starred Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. Now he is all set to start shooting for Rakesh Sharma biopic from February.
