With Dhadak, Kedarnath, Bazaar and many other interesting films, 2018 has been a year full of entertainment and drama. These socially relevant films were not just best on the entertainment scale but also introduced many fresh faces and talent to the glam world. Amid the war of words going around the N-word (nepotism), many star-kids debuted the film industry and stunned everyone with their remarkable acting skills as well.
To name a few, late actress Sridevi’s elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor’s half-brother Ishaan Khatter, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter Sara Ali Khan, late actor Vinod Mehra’s son Rohan Mehra, Maine Pyar Kiya actress Bhagyashree’s son Abhimanyu Dassani are few popular star-kids who made their debut in 2018. As their parents have already carved their niche in the film industry, now it’s their kids' turn, to carry forward the legacy.
Sridevi's daughter Janhvi Kapoor:
Janhvi made her acting debut with Dharma Productions film Dhadak, along with Ishaan Khatter. Interestingly, Janhvi received a lot of appreciations for her debut film and her performance in the film. Dhadak was a remake of Marathi blockbuster film Sairat. Earlier, during the trailer launch of Dhadak, Janhvi said, "I saw Sairat with mom at home and I remember telling her 'I wish that this was my first film and I could do something like it'. Me and mom had this big discussion on how she wanted a role like this for me and then you (Karan Johar) called and it happened."
Shahid Kapoor's half-brother Ishaan Khatter:
Janhvi’s co-star in Dhadak, Ishaan, earlier made his acting debut with Majid Majidi’s film Beyond the Clouds. But his first Bollywood film was Dhadak, which brought accolades to him. A skilled dancer, Ishaan is compared to his half-brother Shahid in many aspects.
Saif Ali Khan-Amrita Singh's daughter Sara Ali Khan:
Also tagged as the golden girl of the film industry, Sara made her Bollywood debut with Sushant Singh Rajput in Abhishek Kapoor’s film Kedarnath. As expected, Sara impressed fans with her extraordinary performance in Kedarnath. She played the role a Brahman girl named Mukku in Kedarnath, who was in love with a Muslim boy played by Sushant in the film.
Bhagyashree’s son Abhimanyu Dassani:
Abhimanyu, who has worked as an assistant director in many films, made his Bollywood debut with 2018 film Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota.
Vinod Mehra's son Rohan Mehra:
Late actor Vinod Mehra’s son Rohan Mehra, also made his Bollywood debut with Saif Ali Khan starrer Bazaar. Rohan said that no one even new that he existed before the trailer launch of his film.
