Alia Bhatt and Salman Khan are all set to share screen-space for the first time and that too in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movie titled Inshallah. The project is not just a reunion of Bhansali and Salman but also the first movie of the filmmaker in last five years in which Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are not part of. Well, the casting raised many eyebrows but the story justifies the unusual pairing of Salman and Alia.

As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Salman will be essaying the role of a middle-aged business whereas Alia will be playing an aspiring actress around 20s. ''All the factors, including age gap, have been taken into consideration. The story will justify the teaming up of two actors, from different generations, on a romantic journey,'' the source told Mumbai Mirror.

The report even mentioned that the shooting is likely to take place in Haridwar, Rishikesh and Varanasi along with the US. Salman Khan’s home production banner Salman Khan Films will co-produce the film along with Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Earlier announcing the project, Alia and Salman expressed their excitement. ''I was 9 when I first walked into Sanjay Leela Bhansali's office, all nervous and hoping and praying that I would be in his next film. It's been a long wait,'' she wrote, whereas Salman wrote, ''It’s been 20 years but I am glad Sanjay and I are finally back in his next film, Inshallah. Looking forward to work with Alia and inshallah we will all be blessed on this journey.#Inshallah #SLB @aliaa08 @bhansali_produc @SKFilmsOfficial''

On a related note, Alia's recent release Kalank has not been well-received by the audience. Though Alia's performance has been showered with praises, Kalank is being slammed for lack of freshness. Meanwhile, Salman will next be seen in Ali Abbas Zafar's Bharat which is a remake of a South Korean film, An Ode to my Father. The movie also stars  Katrina Kaif, Jackie Shroff, Disha Patani, Tabu and Sunil Grover in important roles.
