Trailer of Meghna Gulzar's Raazi dropped on online platforms this morning and we are completely impressed. Starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kauhsal, the spy thriller is slated for May 11 release but the intriguing trailer has made our wait harder.
Raazi trailer: Alia Bhatt as a 'fearless spy' is all set for yet another blockbuster
The story revolves around Alia Bhatt's character Sehmat who gets married to a Pakistani officer played by Vicky only to become ears and eyes of India. The naive girl becomes an Indian spy on the order of her father played by Ranjit Kapur. There is love, betrayal and patriotism in the film.
After Highway and Udta Punjab, Alia Bhatt has again impressed us with her acting chops in the espionage thriller. But do you know that Alia's mother Soni Razdan has also acted in the movie? For those who know it already, were you able to track her? Those who couldn't spot Soni Razdan, here is a still from the trailer. In the picture, Razdan looks inconsolable and is standing between Alia and Vicky.

Revealing her parents' reaction, Alia in an interview to a leading daily said: ''My parents have been very involved with 'Raazi'. My mother (Soni Razdan) has even acted in the film. They’ve both seen the trailer. The first time my dad (Mahesh Bhatt) saw the trailer, he was sitting a little away from our dining area and watching it intently on his laptop. Suddenly, we heard a whistle. That’s how we knew he’s liked it. Though my mother has acted in the film, she had tears in her eyes when she saw the trailer. She said, ‘It’s very moving and gritty.''

Raazi is set against the backdrop of 1971 Indo-Pak war and is based on Harinder Sikka's novel Calling Sehmat. The movie has been shot in Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir and Mumbai.
