Veteran actor Vinod Khanna was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award posthumously at the 65th National Film Awards for his contribution to Indian cinema. His elder son Akshaye Khanna and wife Kavita Khanna received the award on his behalf. Vinod’s younger son Rahul Khanna wrote an emotional post for his father and also shared Akshaye’s childhood picture with him. Along with Vinod, late actress Sridevi was also conferred with the Best Actress Award for her film Mom.
Rahul took to social networking site Instagram to share the picture. He captioned it as, “On such a proud and emotional day—as my dad is posthumously awarded India's highest honour in cinema, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the National Film Awards and Akshaye accepts it on behalf of all of us—throwing back to one of my favourite photos of them both on one of his film sets, c. 1980!#tbt #throwbackthursday.”
Vinod died last year. He was last seen in Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dilwale.
