After triggering controversy with his biography, An Ordinary Life: A Memoir, Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has once again hogged the limelight. for all the wrong reasons. This time, the critically acclaimed actor has been accused of spying on his wife. Mumbai Police summoned the Raees actor for interrogation but the actor did not adhere to the order.
Nawaz's name surfaced when Thane Police nabbed around 11 accused, mostly detectives for illegally sourcing call data records (CDR). Nawaz allegedly hired a private detective to spy on his wife and took out her call records. In an exclusive conversation with India TV, a police official said that they have found the link of many other Bollywood celebrities and businessmen in the CDR case. However, they cannot reveal names until the investigation is completed. Police will be able to provide further information after recording Nawaz's statement.
Interestingly, Nawaz played the role of a spy in 2017 revenge drama Mom, starring Sridevi. The actor was last seen in Babumoshai Bandookbaaz and is currently prepping for the titular role in Balasaheb Thackeray biopic.
