Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is taking it really hard in himself after Phantom Films dissolved last week. The filmmaker has apologized a number of times for not taking enough actions against his former co-worker Vikas Bahl. In multiple of statements and series of tweets, the Manmarziyaan filmmaker has expressed regret for failing every woman around him. Kashyap feels responsible for enabling Bahl by working with him even after knowing about his. However, he made his stand clear that he was bound by studio’s contract which had prevented him from removing Vikas Bahl from his position at Phantom Films. As a result, the 7-year-old dream that was built together by Kashyap, Motwane, Mantena and the man in question, crumbled one fine day last week.
As if his apologies weren’t enough, Anurag Kashyap has changed his display picture to all-black. Even his cover picture is nothing but blackened blankness. His Twitter bio now reads, “Ashamed , freelancer , filmmaker on hire”

Anurag Kashyap has also stepped down from his duties at MAMI Mumbai Film Festival till he clears his name. Sharing the news, he wrote, “In the light of the current events , I have decided to step back from my duties as a board member from MAMI until the shadow of doubt of our alleged complicitness in silence and not doing anything about it , is cleared.”
Also, Vikas Bahl who has been accused by several women of sexual misconduct has issued a legal notice to Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane. He stated that both the filmmaker had used the #MeToo movement as an opportunity to get rid of him. He even alleged that Kashyap has bribed an employee to make such allegations against him.
