Madhuri Dixit Nene, who is known for her iconic role as 'Chandramukhi' in 'Devdas', got nostalgic as the 2002 movie completed 16 years on Thursday. The actress took to her Instagram account and shared a throwback picture of herself with Shah Rukh Khan and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali during the shooting.

She captioned the picture as saying, "Throwback to #Devdas which will always be a film very close to my heart! From working with all the talented actors and technicians to the dances to wearing some of the finest outfits and excellent performances. It was so much fun to be a part of this beautifully crafted film #16YearsOfDevdas @iamsrk #SanjayLeelaBhansali @aishwaryaraibachchan_arb."

The 2002 romantic drama had grabbed the attention of not only the domestic audience, but it was also well-received overseas with the viewers going gaga over the gigantic beauty. The movie is considered one of the most celebrated movies of Bollywood and always tops the list of iconic movies of the industry. While Shah Rukh Khan played the role of Devdas, Madhuri played Chandramukhi and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan played Devdas’ love interest, Paro.

Not just the performances, but Devdas earned accolades for iconic songs and dance numbers. The song ‘Dola Re Dola’ is still a hit among the audience. The flick, which was also nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Foreign Language Film also starred Jacky Shroff in an important role.

On a related note, Madhuri was last seen in Marathi film 'Bucket List.' Currently, the actress is seen as the judge on dance reality show Dance Deewane.
