Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and veteran actor-director Satish Kaushik are reuniting for another project titled Kagaaz. Salman and Satish, who earlier collaborated 16 years ago for Tere Naam will next be seen in Ali Abbas Zafar's Bharat. The movie has Satish's cameo. Meanwhile, the 53-year-old actor has come on-board as producer and distributor for Satish's directorial, Kagaaz.
Kaagaz is a story of Uttar Pradesh famer Lal Bihari, who has been declared dead on paper by his relatives as they want to grab his land. The movie featuring Pankaj Tripathi, Nishant Kaushik and Monal Gajjar in lead roles is based on a real-life story of farmer who fights against the system to prove that he is alive.
“Satish Kaushik recently shot for a cameo in Bharat and that's when he narrated the basic premise of his next to Salman. At the end of the narration, Salman was blown away by the concept and decided to produce as well as distribute the film under his banner,” a source close to the development told Mumbai Mirror.
Kagaaz's shooting began in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh in October and concluded in November, 2018. Satish had this idea for almost a decade. He was also in talks with Anil Kapoor, however, things didn't materialise.
On a related note, Salman Khan is currently busy with his next project Bharat, co-starring Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani and Sunil Grover. Bharat is the Hindi remake of 2014 South Korean film Ode to My Father.
The makers of Bharat released a teaser on 72nd Independence Day of India. Giving us a sneak peek into the story, the teaser talks about 'the journey of a man and a nation together'. In the 50 seconds clip, we can hear a narration in Salman's voice. ''Baauji kehte the kuch rishte zameen se hote hai, aur kuch khoon se.. mere paas dono the''.
