Following the current trend of making Hindi remakes of films from the Southern film industries, Salman Khan recently showed interest in remaking
Mahesh Babu's Telugu film Maharshi in Hindi. According to the report, makers of Maharshi had held film screening for Salman Khan and his team. In case the Bharat actor likes the film, he might take the rights for Hindi remake for Maharshi. Dil Raju, producer of Maharshi, may jointly bankroll the Hindi remake.
However, Salman Khan has now cleared the air saying that he isn't remaking Maharshi in Hindi. Salman Khan said in a recent interview, “I haven’t seen Mahesh Babu’s Mahrashi, it just released.” He also went on to rubbish all speculations about him remaking the Mahesh Babu starrer in Hindi by adding, “I’m not remaking it in Hindi.”
Furthermore, Salman Khan spoke about the films which he saw. While casually mentioning that he watches whatever is running on Television (and gets pissed if somebody changes the channel), Salman Khan went on to reveal that he sees a lot of South Indian movies. “Recently I saw Akhil’s film which was coming out. The name was Taqdeer I think,” said the Bharat actor.
Interestingly, Salman Khan revived his career with the remake of Telugu film Pokiri, which had Mahesh Babu in the lead role. The Hindi remake titled Wanted was directed by Pabhudheva.
On the professional front, Salman Khan will be next seen in the movie Bharat which is going to be released on June 5, 2019. The movie also stars Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff, Tabu and Sunil Grover in the lead roles. The movie happens to be a remake of the 2014 South Korean movie Ode To My Father. Salman is also shooting for another upcoming movie Dabanng 3. He will also be seen opposite Alia Bhatt in the movie Inshallah.
