Avicii's fans from all across the globe are shocked to hear about the Swedish DJ and music producer's sudden demise. The 28-years-old was found dead in Muscat, Oman. Born as Tim Bergling, he started producing music at the age of 16 and touring when he was just 18. He shot to fame in 2011 with the smash hit Levels, followed by chartbusters Wake Me Up and Hey Brother.
Avicii's publicist in a statement said, ''He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday (April 20) afternoon local time. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given''.
With a career spanning over eight years, the artist was nominated twice for Grammy Awards. First in 2012 for Sunshine with David Guetta and the second time in 2013 for Levels. He even won the American Music Award for favourite electronic dance music artist in 2013 and two MTV Music Awards. Avicii also collaborated with Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Madonna, and Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong to create some chart-topping music.
Avicii had health issues in the past and was hospitalised for 11 days in 2012 for the treatment of acute pancreatitis. In 2016, the artist shocked his fans all across the globe when he announced his temporary retirement from touring, citing a desire to ''explore other interests''.
Soon after news of his death broke out, tribute started pouring in from all the corners. Celebrities, co-workers and fans expressed their shock and sympathy on social media. Fellow producer and DJ Calvin Harris said that he felt devastated. ''Devastating news about Avicii, a beautiful soul, passionate and extremely talented with so much more to do. My heart goes out to his family. God bless you Tim x,'' he tweeted. Ellie Goulding, Akon, Paris Hilton among other celebrities also paid tribute on Twitter.

Levels (2011)
This dance track was Avicii's breakout hit. It was a global chartbuster and reached the Top Ten in 15 countries. Levels has vocal sample from the 1962 song Something's Got a Hold on Me by Etta James, written by Leroy Kirkland, Pearl Woods and James.
Wake Me Up (2013)
International hit Wake Me Up was the lead single from Avicii's first studio album True. The song released in September 2013 peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.
You Make Me (2013)
Avicii co-produced this EDM song along with Ash Pournouri as a follow-up to Wake Me Up single. It dethroned Wake Me Up on the U.K. Dance Chart to bag the top position
Hey Brother (2013)
It is a dance track that incorporates Dan Tyminski's style, who also provided vocals for it. The video of the track includes clips from the Vietnam War.
Addicted To You (2013)
Avicii collaborated with American folk-rock recording artist Audra Mae for the song which he co-wrote along with Mac Davis, Josh Krajcik, and Pournouri.
Lonely Together (2017)
Lonely Together was Avicii's biggest track before his death. The song features British singer Rita Ora and was released as the second single from Avicii's EP.
