Kangana Ranaut is in no mood to stop. Ever since her film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi came in theatres, she has fired salvos at many Bollywood celebrities including Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Alia, on the other hand, chose to remain silent and refrained from releasing any controversial statement. Recently when Kangana was compared to Alia Bhatt's performance in Raazi, she labelled her to be a 'mediocre actress'. She even said that it's an embarrassment to be compared with Alia Bhatt's mediocre performance in the film.

Alia Bhatt, who chooses to remain silent on such issues, responded to the statement and said, "I respect Kangana’s work a lot and I respect her opinion. If she feels a particular way she must have reason to feel that way. I would rather remember how much she had praised me after watching Raazi. And I’d just like to focus on my work. Maybe she will appreciate me again if I work hard enough.”

While talking to media, Kangana Ranaut had earlier said, "I am embarrassed…What is there to beat in Gully Boy performance ….same snappy muh phat girl… Bollywood’s idea of a fiery girl, woman empowerment and good acting, spare me this embarrassment, please. Media has taken filmy kids love too far…stop pampering mediocre work or else bar will never be raised.”

Alia Bhatt's Gully Boy released in February this year. She played the role of Ranveer Singh's girlfriend Safina who was hot-headed and fiery unlike the conventional girls. The film earned around Rs 150 crore at the box office.
