Astitva
This 2000 film saw yet another marvelous and off-beat performance of Tabu, where she plays the role of an unhappy wife who has an affair with her music teacher. The role fetched Tabu the Filmfare Best Actress Critics award for her portrayal of a confident housewife in search of her identity.
Chandi Bar
Tabu did not shy away from playing a bar dancer on screen in the 2001 flick Chandi Bar. and her role was much appreciated. Tabu won the National Award for Best Award for Chandni Bar.
Maqbool
Maqbool was Tabu’s maiden attempt with director Vishal Bhardwaj, at a Shakespearean classic, Macbeth.
