Emotional Deepika Padukone hugs Meghna Gulzar on last day of Chhapaak shoot. See pictures

Deepika Padukone got emotional and broke down on the last day of shoot of her upcoming film Chhapaak.

A few days ago, reports were doing rounds in the media that Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone got emotional while wrapping up Chhapaak. The role has been tremendously demanding for Deepika, since it's the first time she was portraying a real-life character on screen. A source close to the actress told a leading daily that Chhapaak is really close to Deepika's heart. She broke down when she shot for the first scene for the film. However, Deepika Padukone quickly gained composure and went back to work likea professional she is. On Thursday, director Meghna Gulzar shared pictures from the last day of the shoot. In one of the pictures, an emotional Deepika is seen hugging Meghna. The director on the other hand, is also seen with red eyes, probably from crying. 

Sharing the pictures, Meghna Gulzar wrote, "And we wrapped #chhapaak 
Malti... Amol... I will carry you with me. Thank you for your faith and for pouring yourself into our film!" 

Vikrant Massey commented on the picture, "You are the light. Thank you for leading us and guiding us through. This will be cherished forever."

Later, Meghna Gulzar posted another picture from Chhapaak sets which shows her striking the lines off the script as they are shot. She wrote, "When the last scene in the film’s one-line has been “yellowed” off, there’s so much and so many to be grateful for. 
Thank you each and everyone on team #chhapaak for this incredible journey!" 

She tagged the entire team of Chhapaak including Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey in the post. 

Earlier, Deepika Padukone announced the shoot wrap on her Instagram by sharing a group picture. She wrote, "& it’s a wrap on THE MOST PRECIOUS film of my career...see you all at the movies!10.1.2020" 

Deepika's husband and Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh dropped a comment, "can’t wait to witness the magic." 

Chhapaak also marks Deepika Padukone's production venture. She's co-producing the film along with Meghna Gulzar. Later, she will also produce Ranveer Singh starrer 83, which is based on India's historic win at World Cup 1983.
