National-Award winning filmmaker Omung Kumar says to direct a biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a huge responsibility and he is proud to helm it. Kumar, who has previously directed movies like "Mary Kom" and "Sarbjit", took to Twitter and called Modi "one the most prolific leaders in the history of India."
"To direct a biopic of a man Shri Narendra Modiji who is one the most prolific leaders in the history of India is a huge responsibility and I am proud to helm it. Vivek Oberoi to play the legend. Produced by Suresh Oberoi and Sandip Ssingh," the director tweeted on Monday.
The official poster of the film based on the life of Modi was launched on Monday by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Titled as "PM Narendra Modi", it stars actor Vivek Anand Oberoi. The tagline reads, "Deshbhakti ki meri shakti hai". The film's poster was launched in 27 languages.
Vivek Oberoi also talked about his experience of working on the biopic. "I am extremely fortunate. Today, I am feeling like I felt 16 years ago, during 'Company' days. I am feeling the same kind of excitement and hunger because this is a role of a lifetime for any actor. I truly believe at the end of the journey, I pray I become better actor and a better human being," the actor told reporters.
Produced by Suresh Oberoi and Sandip Singh, the shooting for PM Narendra Modi will be extensively done in Gujarat apart from other states. Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi is said to be attending workshops along with trying distinct looks for the film. However, veteran actor Paresh Rawal was initially roped in to play the role but the actor backed out due to unknown reasons.
