Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone is one of the top actresses in the industry and other than being a stellar performer, the actress is known for speaking out her mind on every issue. From mental illness to equality in B-town, Deepika has ben vocal about her opinions and has even tried to bring a change. This is no secret that she was even paid more than her co-stars Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. In fact, Deepika was praised for not settling for less than what she deserved for portraying the strong character in the film. Once again, the actress has talked about pay disparity and has put forward her strong opinion about it.

In an interview with Filmfare magazine, Deepika Padukone opened up about the controversial topic of pay disparity in the industry and said, "It would depend upon how much the male actor is getting paid. Everyone knows who’s getting paid how much and why so. I’m not delusional when it comes to that. I’m also aware of how much I deliver vis-à-vis the Khans, vis-à-vis the newer boys like Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor or Varun Dhawan. I know where I stand. I’m also aware of the production costs. I don’t want a penny if the money is going to the film. But I’ll not settle for being paid less because they need to compensate for the male actor. If you’re going to say that don’t charge so much because we want Ranbir Kapoor in the film and we’ve got to pay him, then I’m not okay with it. I’ll then demand an equal amount."

On the personal front, Deepika Padukone married the love of her life Ranveer Singh in a dreamy affair at lake Como, Italy. The duo dated for six years before tying the knot according to two wedding ceremonies- Konkani and Sindhi traditions. They got married on November 15 and followed it with five reception in Bengaluru and Mumbai.
