Deepika Padukone, who is all set to recreate the magic of her stellar acting skills on the big screen again after a sabbatical of one year, has wrapped up her upcoming film Chhapaak. The actress will be seen stepping into the shoes of a real life acid-attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal in the film. The first look of the actress has already created a lot of buzz among the fans for the film and they are eagerly waiting for it to hit the theaters. Deepika Padukone has wrapped up shooting for the ‘most precious film’ of her career and she ended the journey with many smiling faces in a group photo.
Deepika Padukone, as well as her Chhapaak director Meghna Gulzar, took to their Instagram to share a group picture from the last day of the shoot of their film. While Deepika called it “a wrap on THE MOST PRECIOUS film of my career”, director Meghna Gulzar said, “An emotional whirlwind.” The actress also teased her fans by saying, “see you all at the movies!” Check out the post here-
While Deepika Padukone plays the female lead in the film, actor Vikrant Massey is seen playing her husband in Chhapaak. This is the first time that Deepika and Vikrant have come together for a film. Also, Chhapaak marks Deepika's production debut in Bollywood. She is co-producing the film with Meghna Gulzar. The film will release on 10th January next year.
Speaking to Mid-Day about the life and his character, Vikrant Massey revealed, “Alok has been working with acid attack survivors for a while now and has been through the entire struggle with Laxmi. The fiIm will showcase interesting dynamics between the two.” Talking about working with Deepika, he said, “Working with an actress of her caliber is not just an opportunity but also a huge responsibility. I’m both nervous and excited.” He also added that the film’s story will resonate with the world.
