It’s time to rejoice for all the Bhumi Pednekar fans as the actress might star opposite King Of Romance Shah Rukh Khan. After a lot of speculation, the makers of upcoming biopic Salute have finally zeroed in on Toilet: Ek Prem Katha actress Bhumi Pednekar for the lead role. While nothing has been confirmed yet, it is reported that the makers met the actress regarding the same.
According to the reports in Pinkvilla, a source has revealed, “The makers met Bhumi Pednekar a few days ago to discuss the script. They haven’t yet locked her but she is one of their choices. The screen time for the female lead won’t be much in the biopic, hence none of the bigger actresses are taking it up anyway.”. Earlier, there were reports of Kareena Kapoor Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Vaani Kapoor playing the female lead in Salute. It is being said that the role of a female lead is very small in the film which is why no big actresses are taking it up.
Rakesh Sharma was a former Indian Air Force pilot who became the first Indian citizen to enter space when he flew aboard the Soviet rocket Soyuz T-11 in 1984. And in an attempt to portray Rakesh Sharma’s life on-screen, director Mahesh Mathai is gearing up to film a biopic on the pilot’s life. The buzz also has it that the first choice for the role was Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan but due to creative differences he didn’t take up the film and the role was given to Superstar Aamir Khan.
As per reports, Shah Rukh Khan will start the prep for Salute in October and shoot until November. After which the actor will get busy with the promotions of Aanand L. Rai’s Zero which is slated to release on December 21, 2018. Zero also stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif.
