Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana is currently busy with promotions of his upcoming film AndhaDhun. The actor-singer was shocked when his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer on his birthday (September 14). Tahira Kashyap was detected with Stage 0 cancer and it was a big blow to both of them.
However, being the power couple they are Tahira and Ayushmann decided to battle it bravely. In an interview with Mid-Day, the actor said that instead of grieving, they went and watched Manmarziyaan on that day.
''She was diagnosed on my birthday. We had to maintain a happy life state to deal with it. In fact, after we got to know about her condition, we went to see Manmarziyaan that evening. We told ourselves, ‘Okay, we’ve been diagnosed. We can’t go home and cry about it. It’s better to go for a film.’ So, we watched the film, came back and got the date for her operation,” Ayushmann said.
He also added that he had sleepless nights for seven days and how he juggled between work and hospital. The actor also says that they are lucky enough that it got detected at the early stage. ''We decided to celebrate the silver lining," Ayushmann said.
Tahira wrote a lovely and courageous note on Instagram. She said that the obstacle has given her new definition of life. She also urged women to be aware and wrote, ''If any symptoms come up, think of it as a protective force and get yourselves examined''. Check out the post below:
Ayushmann tied the knot with his long-time sweetheart Tahira in November 2011 and are now parents of two kids. The actor will be playing a blind pianist in AndhaDhun directed by Sriram Raghavan whereas in Badhaai Ho, he will be seen in the role of Nakul, who is embarrassed when his middle-aged mother gets pregnant.
