Radhika Apte is garnering a lot of appreciation for her performance in R Balki's PadMan. The movie based on real-life PadMan Arunachalam Muruganantham, has Akshay Kumar in the titular role. PadMan made people openly discuss menstrual issues, which was earlier considered a taboo. Well, the movie has started changing thoughts of people and one such impact was seen at actress Radhika's house itself.
Radhika's house help was so impressed by her performance and message of the movie that she distributed sanitary napkins to young girls in slum areas. She took some time off to create awareness regarding the issue, said a report in Mumbai Mirror. It is being said that Radhika is very moved by her maid's gesture.
PadMan, which also stars Sonam Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan in cameos hit the cinemas on February 9 and minted Rs 71.90 crore so far. The movie witnessed a decline in its business in the second week. Before the release, as a part of the promotional campaign, the makers and stars of the movie launched PadMan challenge, which went on to be a social media hit.
On professional front, Radhika will next be seen in Baazaar with Saif Ali Khan and Sriram Raghavan's next with Ayushmann Khurrana. Also, she will feature in Netflix's Sacred Games.
