Today is the 78th birth anniversary of much-loved Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh. Born in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, Jagjit Singh revived and popularised Ghazals in India and abroad. From Tum Itna Jo Muskura Rahe Ho to Woh Kaagaz Ki Kashti, Jagjit Singh rendered many gems. He even crooned some great devotional tracks. During his appearance in Aap Ki Adalat, Jagjit Singh revealed many interesting details about his childhood and love life. He tied the knot with noted singer Chitra Dutta in 1969.
Unfortunately, he suffered a brain hemorrhage on September 23, 2011. After staying in coma for over two weeks, he breathed his last on October 10.
