A look at women's power in Bollywood films

A woman wears many hats each day as a mother, a wife, a sister, a daughter and a professional and yet excels in all her roles. No Bollywood movie is ever complete without a woman's presence. On screen she adds the much needed emotion, charisma, exquisiteness and incomparable sensation. On the occasion of International Women's Day, let's have a look at the power of women in Bollywood : 1. Priyanka Chopra – Barfi! was a brilliant performance by Priyanka. This former Miss World proved everyone that she can act. It was was a sweet treat as it touched viewers all over. People fell in love with the mute character Jhilmil for her extraordinary, yet innocent performance. 2.Vidya Balan---- First she became sultry Silk Smitha in The Dirty Picture, then a pregnant woman in Kahaani. Also, her role in Parineeta. Every time she stole the audience's heart. With her stellar roles, Vidya brought back women-centric films to the fore in Bollywood. We have witnessed such dominant performance by Vidya Balan that we never missed any male character in the movie. 3.Sridevi-----Sridevi's comeback performance in English Vinglish was such that the spectators weren't able to stop themselves to relate with Shashi who was so poor with her English. Sridevi has done lively roles in ‘Mr India', ‘Chandni' and ‘Chaalbaaz' in the past, It was great to see her in a mature role. 4. Kareena Kapoor----- Kareena did the female oriented role in the film Heroine .The movie is delightful, bold, shocking, scandalous, sensitive exposing scenes behind the glitz and glamour that our film stars live in. Kareena Kapoor looked a complete stunner in the movie. She stole the show by delivering a stupendous performance. 5. Rani Mukherji --After delivering a stupendous performance in No One Killed Jessica, Rani Mukherji justified the Marathi girl role in the film Aiyyaa. She leaves you thoroughly enthralled by her sweet act.
