New Delhi, Jun 29 : Actor Imran Khan, who has roped in uncle Aamir Khan as an item boy for his upcoming adult comedy ‘Delhi Belly', feels that men in the industry can give good competition to ‘Munnis' and ‘Sheilas'.

The five-films old actor says he is looking forward to do an item number provided it is funny.

“It's inevitable and had to happen. Why should girls have all the fun? If given a chance, I will also do an item number but it should be hilarious and should make the audience tap their feet just like ‘Munni Badnam',” Imran told PTI.

The 28-year-old says he had no idea that Aamir would do the retro-themed song ‘Tere pyaar ne kar diya deewana' when he signed on the film.

“The item number was shot later in the film. I have the seen the video recently and I couldn't control my laugh after seeing it. It was simply awesome,” Imran says.

Aamir, who is also the producer, is leaving no stones unturned to promote the movie, whose release clashes with Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap'.

“Maamu (Aamir)is the best producer I have ever worked with. But he never points out my mistakes. He always says that you should learn by your own mistakes. Contrary to what people think, he has never given me any acting tips,” says the actor.

‘Delhi Belly' revolves around three guys and Imran says he shared a great chemistry with his co-stars Vir Das and Kunal Roy Kapoor.

“It was more like a boy's club. Being a stand up comedian, Vir is a hilarious guy in real life too and Kunal is also a funny guy. We three share a good sense of humour.

Vir was writing his last show ‘Walking On Broken Das' and he used to try his jokes on us,” he says.

Imran, who debuted as a lead with ‘Jaane Tu... Yaa Jaane Naa', sheds his squeaky-clean image with the raunchy comedy, which hits theatres on July 1. The film is already facing flak for its expletive-ridden dialogues and song ‘DK Bose'.

But the actor defends his movie saying they have not used slangs to attract audience.

“The song has a relevance in the movie. It is a youth centric film and the language reflects that,” he says.

The film has been shot in various locations in Delhi and the actor has also rented a house in Greater Kailash.

“Delhi is like my second home. From my past two films, I have been shooting here. I am bored off staying in hotels now. It feels good when you have a nice airy room and a kitchen to cook whatever you like,” says Imran, who married long-term girlfriend Avantika recently. “Avantika is yet to visit my new place.” PTI
