Never said I'm replacing Salman in 'Shuddhi': Varun Dhawan
Mumbai: Varun Dhawan, who has been repeatedly questioned about replacing Salman Khan in "Shuddhi", wonders who said that he is stepping into the "Dabangg" star's shoes for the film.
"Never was it said and never have I said that I am replacing Salman bhai," Varun told IANS here.
Earlier, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor Khan were supposed to star in the movie, but later Salman Khan was roped in.
Then in May, producer Karan Johar announced Varun and Alia for the lead pair in the film, which will be directed by Karan Malhotra.
Varun Dhawan, who is sharing the screen with Alia for the third time after "Student Of The Year" and "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania", says "Shuddhi" is very special for him and feels that doing this project would be a "mammoth" task.
"'Shuddhi' as a film is very special... and is being spoken about before its release and that's never happened with any film of mine. It's going to be a mammoth task for me," the 28-year-old said.
As of now, Varun is currently busy promoting Remo D'Souza's "ABCD 2", which is releasing on June 19, and features Prabhudheva and Shraddha Kapoor.
